Walkability

55
Okay

Doha presents a mixed experience for those on foot. Key areas such as the Corniche and Souq Waqif are enjoyable for walking, with well-maintained pedestrian paths. However, the city's car-centric layout and spread-out attractions necessitate reliance on transport to fully explore. Additionally, the harsh heat, especially in summer months, makes walking less comfortable. While infrastructure improvements are underway, walking is not yet practical throughout the city.

Public Transit

70
Excellent

Public transit in Doha has seen significant improvements with the development of the Doha Metro and the Karwa bus network. The metro is efficient, modern, and connects major districts, making it convenient for travelers to navigate the city. Complementary Metrolink buses and integrated transport apps enhance accessibility to more remote areas. Although taxis and ride-sharing services are widely available, the robust public transport system offers a reliable alternative to private vehicles.

Bikeability

Bad

Although cycling infrastructure is growing in Doha, with some dedicated bike lanes and recreational routes like the Olympic Cycling Lane, it remains a developing option. Cycling is mainly recreational, hindered by the hot climate and disconnected bike paths. Heavy traffic can also pose safety challenges for cyclists. While progress is evident, biking is not yet a practical way to commute regularly, limiting its appeal to travelers.
