Hue was a cute spot to visit for a few days and see the sights, but it's hard to imagine making a longer term base here when Da Nang is around the corner with so many more expat-friendly amenities and infrastructure. If you want a breakfast with eggs you're really limiting yourself to a handful of places in very touristy areas. On the plus side the air quality seems better than Hanoi, and people are friendlier. But would pick Da Nang over here.
