Islamabad's public transport includes the consistent and well-structured Metro Bus system, which greatly enhances the commuting experience by connecting key commercial and residential sectors. Despite its comprehensive network, the coverage still feels somewhat limited, prompting many to supplement their travel with popular ride-sharing options like Uber and Careem. These services ensure flexible mobility, making the public transport system functional and practical for traversing the city’s essential locations, though not as exhaustive as larger metropolises.

Cycling in Islamabad is made possible by its flat terrain in many areas, but the biking infrastructure is still underdeveloped. The recent introduction of a 10km pilot project for bicycle lanes by the Capital Development Authority shows promise for future enhancements. However, until this project expands, the lack of dedicated lanes and existing traffic conditions pose considerable challenges, rendering biking less safe and comfortable for everyday use or commuting.
