Jaen City offers an appealing walkable environment, particularly within its charming historic center. Travelers can easily explore key attractions, shops, and eateries on foot, with the pedestrian-friendly layout enhancing the experience. Although the trek to the Castillo de Santa Catalina may challenge those not accustomed to hilly climbs, most of the city's essential destinations are conveniently accessible without needing a car.

Jaen's public transportation is serviceable for travelers, with an operational bus network that connects various neighborhoods, ensuring good coverage within the city. While the past tram service is no longer available, the existing bus lines provide reliable options for moving around locally and also offer connections to nearby cities like Granada and Seville.
