Yeosu is a relatively walkable city, especially around the downtown and waterfront areas, which are bustling with life and attractions that travelers can easily explore on foot. The compact nature of the city center allows travelers to discover local cafes, restaurants, and hidden gems without needing a vehicle. Notably, islands like Baekyado and Odongdo are accessible on foot, offering scenic walking routes. However, the hilly terrain in some tourist spots and the spread of attractions beyond the city center suggest that for a complete experience, access to additional transport modes might be necessary.

The public transportation system in Yeosu is well-developed, with an extensive bus network that makes it easy for travelers to reach various attractions across the city. Buses are generally affordable and connect well to larger transit options that travel outside the city to major destinations like Seoul. However, the lack of an underground system can make transit less speed-efficient, and information at bus stops predominantly in Korean could pose language challenges for non-Korean speakers.
