Baoding is reasonably walkable, especially in its central districts where shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions are within foot's reach. Its urban planning includes 15-minute life circles that increase convenience in some areas. However, as a large city, some neighborhoods are not as accessible on foot and may require other transportation means to reach.

Baoding's public transportation includes buses and trains that connect various parts of the city. The presence of high-speed trains to Beijing from the East Station adds to its connectivity. However, financial issues have caused some bus route suspensions, and while the system is functional for local transit, it may not be as comprehensive as larger cities.

Baoding offers a moderate biking experience, with the flat terrain being an advantage. Shared bicycles are available and some roads have designated bike lanes, but overall safety for cyclists can be a concern, which affects its bikeability. Efforts to promote cycling exist, yet the infrastructure does not fully support a highly bike-friendly environment.
