However, the city lacks a central, pedestrian-friendly area, and distances between points of interest can be significant, necessitating other forms of transportation for many errands and explorations. For travelers staying near coworking spaces or cafes, walkability is improved slightly, but overall, Denpasar is best enjoyed with additional transportation options like a scooter or car.

Public transit in Denpasar is available but not particularly robust or user-friendly for travelers. The city relies on 'bemos' (minibuses) and a limited bus service like Trans Sarbagita, which can be quite affordable but lack the amenities and reliability that many travelers expect. Schedules are often unpredictable, making it a less convenient choice for those with specific time constraints. Ride-sharing services such as Grab and Gojek provide a more reliable alternative, though they can be more costly over time, particularly for frequent travel.

Biking in Denpasar offers a promising yet challenging experience. Some initiatives, like the bike lane from the cultural center to Sanur Beach, indicate a growing awareness and support for cycling. However, the heavy traffic and lack of dedicated bike infrastructure on many roads make biking risky and less comfortable.
