Fortaleza offers a decent public transport system with its extensive bus network and a newer metro line. The buses serve most city areas, though they can be crowded and occasionally delayed. The growing metro system provides an efficient travel option to key areas, though it doesn't cover the entire city yet. Travelers can use a mix of buses, metro, and ride-sharing apps like Uber to navigate Fortaleza effectively, though coverage and convenience can vary by area.

Fortaleza is making progress towards being a bike-friendly city with investments in coastal and central bike lanes.
