Gibsons is a pedestrian-friendly town, especially around Gibsons Landing, where travelers can conveniently access a variety of shops, cafes, and local attractions without a need for a car. The presence of scenic walking routes such as the Seawalk and Bay Walk adds to the charm of exploring the town on foot. While some areas may require a longer walk, particularly those farther from Gibsons Landing, the majority of daily necessities can be accessed on foot, making it a practical base for those who prefer walking.

Gibsons offers modest public transit options that are adequate for a small town setting. BC Transit buses provide connections to the Langdale Ferry Terminal and nearby communities, enabling travelers to navigate the Sunshine Coast and even make trips to Vancouver. Although the public transport network is not extensive and doesn't offer frequent services akin to larger cities, it does cover essential routes that can facilitate movement without a car for those willing to accommodate the schedule.
