Gimhae offers limited walkability, mainly due to its car-centric infrastructure and sprawling layout. The central areas provide some pedestrian-friendly zones with sidewalks, making it decent for short strolls or accessing local amenities. However, the spread-out nature and dependency on vehicles for longer errands or visits can make it challenging for travelers. Key attractions are reachable on foot mainly within central neighborhoods, while other areas require alternate modes of transport.

Gimhae boasts a commendable public transport system, which efficiently connects the city with the larger Busan metropolitan area through the Busan-Gimhae Light Rail Transit. This line provides travelers easy access to Gimhae International Airport and links with the broader Busan Metro network. A range of local and intercity buses further enriches connectivity, facilitating exploration and commutes across diverse destinations within and beyond Gimhae.

Gimhae shows gradual improvement in bikeability with the reintroduction of a public bike system accessible via an app. While the bicycles are user-friendly, featuring adjustable saddles, the overall terrain and bike infrastructure present challenges, such as lack of dedicated bike lanes and shared spaces with cars.
