These options are generally reliable and affordable, making travel across the city feasible without a car. While coverage is expanding, navigating the entire system may require planning, including potential transfers. Biking in Jakarta presents notable challenges, with the city's chaotic traffic and road conditions discouraging to cyclists. Although bicycle lanes are being developed, they are sometimes encroached by other vehicles. The city's flat terrain is favorable to biking, but the heat and humidity can be daunting.
