Moscow provides free public transportation through SMART Transit, which serves key locations like the University of Idaho campus and local medical and shopping areas. The service includes two fixed routes with half-hour intervals, operating six days a week, and a Dial-A-Ride option for flexible transport needs. Although the range is limited, the accessibility and cost-free nature make it a reliable choice for covering essential city areas without a car.

Moscow's supportive infrastructure includes numerous bike lanes and nearly 50 public bike racks downtown, making cycling a convenient mode of transportation. The Paradise Path offers a scenic 2.23-mile trail through important areas like the campus and local parks, while the Bill Chipman Palouse Trail expands biking possibilities with a 7-mile connection to Pullman. While there might be some gaps in bike path coverage, the city promotes biking through community events, making it a feasible and enjoyable option for most travelers.
