Essential amenities, cafes, and historic sites can be accessed comfortably on foot, making it an easy city to explore without needing frequent use of transport.

Public transportation in Nakhon Si Thammarat is limited but functional. Songthaews (shared taxis) are the main mode of transport and are both affordable and widely available along major roads like Ratchadamnoen Road. Although useful, the lack of a comprehensive metro or tram system means travelers might have to rely on these options, which can be less convenient in terms of routes and frequency, especially when trying to reach outlying areas.
