Naxos, particularly around Naxos Town (Chora), is highly walkable, offering travelers easy access to essential amenities such as restaurants, shops, and the beach, all within a compact area. The town's infrastructure supports pedestrian traffic with sidewalks and pedestrian-friendly zones, making it convenient for everyday activities on foot. However, areas outside of the main town may require some additional planning if on foot due to varying accessibility.

Naxos has a reasonably good public transit system characterized by the KTEL bus service, which connects key locations such as beaches and villages to Naxos Town. This makes it feasible for travelers to explore different parts of the island without a private vehicle, especially during peak tourist seasons when bus schedules are regular.
