Niagara Falls offers a blend of walkable and less walkable areas. Around the iconic Falls and Clifton Hill, travelers will find a compact, pedestrian-friendly environment with easy access to attractions, eateries, and shops all in close proximity. However, this walkability diminishes as one moves beyond the immediate tourist zones, where amenities like grocery stores or cafes often require a longer walk or other forms of transportation. While sidewalks are fairly reliable in tourist-heavy zones, they become sporadic in suburban areas, making it challenging to rely solely on walking for daily activities or errands.

Public transportation in Niagara Falls can be somewhat limiting for travelers. Services like the Niagara Region Transit (NRT) and WEGO are available, but may not provide the extensive coverage and frequency that nomads need across the whole city. WEGO is heavily tourist-focused, efficiently connecting attractions but not necessarily supporting daily life needs. While efforts to consolidate and improve the transit system are underway, the current setup may necessitate planning around bus schedules or considering alternative transport for comprehensive urban mobility.

Cycling in Niagara Falls offers a mix of opportunities and hurdles. Enthusiasts can enjoy dedicated bike lanes and beautiful paths along the Niagara River Recreational Trail. However, the spread of bike lanes is uneven across the city, with some key streets lacking this infrastructure, which can discourage cycling. Although the terrain is typically flat in the vicinity of the river, making it easy for leisurely rides, other areas can be hillier and less conducive to safe biking for errands or commutes. While cycling is a viable option for recreation, it may not yet be a convenient choice for everyday transportation across the city.
