Parañaque has pockets that are quite walkable, especially in areas like BF Homes and the Aseana City/Parqal area. Some neighborhoods offer a mix of residential and commercial spaces, which makes it possible to run errands on foot. However, getting between different neighborhoods often requires transportation due to the sprawling nature of the city. While some streets are designed with pedestrians in mind, the city overall is not consistently pedestrian-friendly.
Public transportation in Parañaque includes buses and jeepneys, with the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) serving as a major hub. However, the transit system can be complicated for newcomers due to traffic congestion and the need for multiple transfers to reach various destinations around Metro Manila. While transport is available, it may not always be convenient or comfortable due to high passenger volumes and the complexity of navigating different routes.
Biking in Parañaque can be challenging due to limited dedicated bike lanes and the prevalence of shared lanes with motorcycles. While efforts have been made to improve bike infrastructure, heavy traffic and shared road space make cycling potentially unsafe. The generally flat terrain is a plus, but the lack of safe, protected lanes deters biking as a primary mode of transportation.
