Visitors should base themselves in more walkable neighborhoods to maximize pedestrian access, but may still need alternatives for wider exploration.

Public transit in Waco is limited, with the Waco Transit System providing basic bus services that may not cover all areas or run frequently enough for a traveler's needs. The Baylor University Shuttle adds some value but is mainly student-focused. Improvements are in the pipeline, yet for now, travelers will find it difficult to explore the city extensively using public transportation alone.
